Both of my boys have been going to CMA. The older one has been there 3+ years and the younger one has gone for 2 years. My observation of the boys and the studio 1) They have really good instructors. Mr. Scot has a tremendous sense of humor to make the classes fun and meanwhile, he is strict with disciplines.
A friend of mine and I took 9 preschoolers to Championship Martial Arts. It was incredible to see their interactions with all the children. The class was full of energy which kept the kids engaged. I felt they provided an understanding and patience with each child.
The staff is excellent here. They love kids. Your children will have fun and learn great life skills. We have been going for 2 years and do not plan on stopping. Parents will enjoy just watching the class. The instructors make it entertaining. Before finding CMA we tried Taekwondo.
Great place for kids. Very well run. Family friendly. It’s a really confidence builder for kids and adults and the instructors are very fun and patient.
Your first Karate class at Championship Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
