From the reviews
Amazing team with experienced, knowledgeable instructors who make karate fun in a very positive environment. Sensei Dan Blum does an amazing job with the kids, and it doesn't stop at Karate, the kids also learn important life lessons, discipline, structure and respect.
I started my son here in August of 2024 and my 4 year old in March 2025 and I have never regretted the decision. You can tell the Dan truly loves what he does and it shows with the way he helps and cares for all the children. This dojo is a perfect combination of serious business and fun.
We love Premier Martial Arts! My daughter loves it and it has helped her confidence. Could not say enough good things about Mr. and Mrs. Bluhm!
We were looking for a martial arts sport program that would teach more than physical skills and Dan Bluhm’s Martia Arts School is exceeding our expectations. Dan Bluhm’s Martial Arts School is teaching our 6-year-old girls’ values like respect, self-control, responsibility, accountability, kindness, and patience.
Your first Karate class at Dan Bluhm's Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
