Love, love this karate school!! The instructors are fabulous . They are super patient and kind. My daughter has attended this school for almost 2 years and she absolutely loves it. My daughter is very shy but I love that they always try to get her to come out of her shell.
My son has been attending this school for 7+ years, my daughter 3+ years and myself for over 2 years. What can I say other than we find this school fantastic to attend. The instructors are great at not only teaching martial arts but also getting to know you and the other families that attend.
My husband and I didn't want to overbook our son with too many extra curricular activities, so we chose this one thing. It's perfect because it's all encompassing. A great balance of exercise, self discipline, self defense, confidence building , etc...
I’ve visited this Karate School on several occasions with my best friend Nolan who is enrolled as a student. I was extremely impressed with the kindness, courtesy and inclusive demeanor exhibited by the owner and instructor.
Your first Karate class at Eight Star Martial Arts, LLC/Red Dragon Karate School
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
