From the reviews
Mordechai Genut is the real deal. He knows what he’s doing! I’m an out-of-shape middle-aged guy, and Mordechai arrived to Passaic just at the right time. This is the first time that I’ve taken a karate class. He has the right mix of discipline with understanding. The individuals in the course have a nice camaraderie.
Wow. What a teacher. Frum Karate currently runs 2 groups in Passaic. One for boys under 12 and a teen/men's class. I sat in on both as I was considering it for my sons. I was very impressed with Mordechai's ability to tailor the class to the different levels.
When I heard about Frum Karate coming to Passaic, I was intrigued but skeptical. I wasn't sure how this would enhance my overall fitness. I decided to give it a try. Our first class was electrifying. Mordechai Genut is a real master. He gave us a taste martial arts and we got a good work out.
My son participated in frum karate this summer and I think it was really great for him. It was run really well and provided great structure and skills. Highly recommend.
Your first Karate class at Frum Karate Martial Arts Passaic/Clifton
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
