I’ve been training at Grandmaster Lee’s Tae Kwon Do School in Colonia for years, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best martial arts schools around. As a third-degree black belt, I’ve seen firsthand how structured, welcoming, and effective the environment is.
My son attends Lee's tae kwon do. He has been attending for over a year and I have nothing but praises for Master Lee and his school. Many people are not aware that master lee has been teaching in the same location for over 30 years. That alone speaks for itself. He is great with kids as well as his staff.
As both a former student and now the parent of a student, I can confidently say that Master Lee is one of the most professional and impactful individuals I have ever had the privilege of knowing. His patience, kindness, and deep knowledge of Tae Kwon Do deserve the highest recognition.
I've been going to Grandmaster Lee's Taekwondo school since Feb2016. When I started, I could not even do 1 push up. Its been over a year and I am proud not say that not only can I do more than 30 push ups, but my stamina has increased dramatically and I feel much healthier and look great for my age.
Your first Karate class at H S Lee's Karate School
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
