I can not say enough great things about this Dojo, Jason Nolan and everyone at Impact Dewitt Martial Arts. Since my son started there he has become more confident, healthy and happy kid!
impact Martial Arts Dewitt has been one of the most positive influences for two of my grandsons. The impact it has made in their lives in all aspects including physical fitness, confidence, strength of body and mind, and respect has molded them to be better in so many ways.
I found Impact Martial Arts on Facebook, I was looking for something to engage my son and with school on the horizon a bit if structure and discipline were both bonuses. I got what I was looking for and then some, everyone here is amazing.
My daughter loves Impact Martial Arts Team Dewitt. She is almost 4 and has tried many different activities. This has been the only activity she has wanted to continually participate in. It was a fight to get her to go to soccer every week. No matter how tired she is she is always excited to go to karate.
Your first Karate class at Impact Martial Arts - Team Dewitt
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
