Karate Jutsu has been a life changer for me…I came to Sensei Matt and Karate Jutsu from another martial arts school. His prices are fair, no contract and the training is better than any other around. He is dedicated to the art and his students.
I don’t know where to even start, but I’ll start by saying that Sensei Matt is the epitome of the word sensei. When you think of the word, “sensei” you think of a mentor, someone who can guide you, bring out the best version of yourself, bring out the confidence in you, and someone who is there for you.
Both of my kids been training at Karate Jutsu since each of them was 4 years old. The training my kids receiving have been wonderful.I clearly see how it’s helped them throughout their every day life. My kids gained confidence, coordination,discipline and a BIG respect though this program.
Sensei Matt and his dojo is one the best things that has happened to my son. This was the 3rd Dojo my son was a part of and when we came here he never made me feel like I was just another paying customer. Not only is his pricing fair, but Sensei Matt is patient, encouraging, and passionate about what he does.
Your first Karate class at Karate Jutsu of Rahway
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
