From the reviews
My son was having a hard time in school because he had to switch schools because of my divorce and he was being bullied in school and I didn't know how to help him, so I asked a co-worker where I could find a good Karate school and he recommended Keith Hafner's Karate.
You certainly learn martial arts here, but that's the tip of the iceberg! It's masterful watching teachers discuss the lesson of the week to wide age ranges at once while holding each student's attention and interest. Here you'll find personalized and positive instruction that also features plenty of fun.
I have been training at KHK for almost 20 years and now my two daughters train along side me. I can honestly say that I would not be as successful in either my personal or professional life without my training at this school. The instructors love the students first and the curriculum second.
For over 20 years I have been part of the Keith Hafner's Karate family. My parents enrolled me in classes at the age of 4 and I have been a student there since then. Grand Master Hafner and the rest of the team excel at creating a welcoming environment that is inclusive to all.
Your first Karate class at Keith Hafner's Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
