From the reviews
I would like to encourage anyone living in the Fayette County area to give the fitness class for ladies a try. It’s one of the best workouts I’ve had. Keith is always so encouraging and pushes you to do well. It’s also given me an opportunity to connect with a great group of ladies that also encourage one another.
Sensi Keith is an amazing instructor! He’s kind, patient, attentive and all the kids love him. He’s not only good at teaching the art of karate but also at teaching the kids how to be responsible with what he’s teaching them.
My 6 year old has been practicing karate at Kisu’s for a year now… We love it! Sensei Keith is very skilled and is awesome with the kids. We even had our son’s birthday party there and Keith hosted a fun, interactive party! Definitely recommend this dojo if you are interested in karate!
I can't give it more stars, but it's a fantastic place for my two sons. Santiago has been there for at least two years, and his growth and development have been incredible, not to mention how much his self-confidence has improved. Sebastian is also learning and staying focused while having fun.
Your first Karate class at Kisu's Karate LLC
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
