From the reviews
I’ve been going to Larry Ammons for 23 years. In addition to taekwondo he teaches discipline and confidence. We focus on a lot of kicks but we also do grappling and learning how to get out of certain situations. He helps you build muscle and he also has a vitamin store for the necessary supplements.
Highest ranking black belt (grand master) in SoCal. Get trained by someone who really knows what they're doing. And I love how non-expensive the classes are!
I trained by Larry '74-76' 2 1/2 years ITF left red belt black stripe. I've coached and trained people in Boxing, international free style wrestling,Judo,Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido for over 28 years. Larry was the best I've ever trained under. He was a no non-sense instructor. He pushed you to bring out the best in you.
Ay Katie the woman wanted mma but master was talking her out of it because he does tea kwon do, she probably missunderstood that it was tea kwon do he only sale mma gear. He wanted to talk her out of mma because it's dangerous and he wanted to check if she was good enough to join mma.
Your first Karate class at Larry Ammons Tae Kwon Do/ Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
