For martial arts this is the place to go, you want to learn how to defend yourself with discipline come see Kelly and sensei Robert. They teach children how to defend themselves in today’s world and do an amazing job at it. Very clean and nice location as well as amazing instructors.
They have done amazing with my grand girl. She was so shy when she started. They are so patient and built up her confidence so much. They've been a much loved family. We can't possibly say anything as positive that says just how great our experience with them has been.
I can’t say enough about the Dojo. They teach the true meaning of martial arts. Mansfield Shotokan Karate is like a big family. They are welcoming to all ages of life. I’ve been learning martial arts off & on through them for several years & I enjoy going there to learn.
My daughter and I train here. We have a great time, get a good workout, and sensei Rob does a great job teaching all the levels.
Your first Karate class at Mansfield shotokan dojo and sales LLC
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
