From the reviews
We absolutely love Muntaigo karate do!! It's been almost a year that we made the decision to put the boys in karate.... mainly because our oldest was being bullied. I am so proud of him! Renshi has helped him break out his shell! And the youngest is doing amazing as well! He's a bit more challenging....
Sensai Glory is attentive and patient with her class. She treats her students like family. Watching the kids get better each week is great to see. We hope to be part of her karate family for years to come. It’s been almost 3 years since our family joined our karate family.
They are very respectful and helpful, very professional, strange and ridiculous people feel sad and angry, who do not know about this business or the owner who wants to tarnish their reputation for stupid things, I recommend this place 200%, it is a well-being for children and for women who want to learn self defense
Fantastic school! Our daugther has learned discipline, control, how to defend herself as well as build strength and be confident on her self! Renshi Glory is amazing with the kids, so excited for the many memories we will continually be building in the years to come.
Your first Karate class at Muntaiga Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
