From the reviews
Quartz Hill Tang Soo Do Karate studio is the best in the Antelope Valley. I am very happy having my kid taking classes in this particular place. They have a lot of discipline and focus under the leadership of Master Roger Quinlan and his team…!!!
I recently had the opportunity to train in Tang Soo Do at Quartz Hill Karate under the guidance of Master Roger, and it was an incredible experience. Master Roger's expertise and passion for martial arts were evident in every session.
Fun place to train. You will learn true karate from a professional instructor and everyone makes you feel like you are part of the family. I like the comradarie amongst all the students and instructors. I used to train in another state and I looked around at all the other schools in the AV.
Quartz Hill karate has been one of the best experiences I have had. Mr and Mrs Quinlan are very caring and the will push to your best
Your first Karate class at Quartz Hill Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
