From the reviews
My son has been going to this place close to two years. And even after moving further away from where we live, it is well worth the drive. Leo has given more to my child than I could ever imagined. My son had a bit of an attitude problem and throwing fits at times.
I have been attending this dojo for 3.5 years now and I love it. Sempai Leo has been an inspiration to me since day one. I strive to be the teacher he is. Let's go Vegas Warriors!! -Emma
If you’re looking for a sport that truly builds confidence while developing strength and endurance, this is the place to be. The instructors create the perfect balance between patience and intensity, pushing you to dig deep and discover what you’re truly capable of.
Best full-contact dojo in the area. My daughter has been training for 6 months now and hasn’t missed a single class. She is usually ready to go before I am. Instructors are awesome, and everyone is like family. We love it here. Update...it's been over 4 years now...
Your first Karate class at Shinkyokushin Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
