The classes they run
“I strongly recommend signing up your kid for his class to have the amazing experience i had and maybe even better if they are more dedicated than me.”
What students say
“Their program helps to build strong balance, healthy postures and balanced movement through the use of age appropriate forms and drills, also improves memorization skills.”
“They are firm and strong when teaching, but it comes from wanting the kids to learn discipline, respect, and confidence.”
From the reviews
I've trained in this dojo for about 4+ years of my life, and i don't regret a second of it. Sensei Russell has been the instructor during those times, and he still is to this day. He always focused on discipline, technique, morals, strength, wisdom, etc.
My son has been training here for over 10 years. The instructors (especially Russell Anamizu) are fantastic with a strong focus on discipline and respect.
I take the adult's class, training is amazing, Sensei Russel really works with everyone and cares about the students. You will learn discipline and respect. Awesome dojo. Great for kids and adults. My son enjoys Karate both online and in class.
Your first Karate class at Ted Tabura Karate Do
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
