From the reviews
Our son started this year with TKA and loves it. The after school program combined with the Karate classes are great. The staff / instructors are extremely courteous, and really show exceptional attention to every student.
My grandson attends karate classes at T.K.A..The owner is a 5th degree black belt and the instructors are very attentive to the children and adults.
My son just started Karate this year at TKA and is loving it, and so am I. He has learned so many new things already and is constantly looking forward to the next class. The staff is the friendliest and most caring folks you will find. Everyone just makes you feel so at home and are very helpful.
An amazing team! I am so pleased with my decision to enroll my children in TKA. Their after-school and Karate program is a valuable combination. They also have a great summer camp. Check them out, you will not regret it.
Your first Karate class at Texas Karate Academy - American Top Team Beaumont
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
