My son has been a member at USk for a little over four years, We started at the age a four, he's now turning 9 this weekend . He's grown and learned so much over the years with this school. I Trust them with my son for after school pickup, very well organized, also summer Camps are the best and so much fun..
This review is 2 years in the making. My son started USK the week he turned 5. At that time, we were concerned with some aspects of his personality. He was shy, cried easily, was not assertive and more of a follower than a leader.
Without a doubt, this is the best aftercare and camp program I have ever experienced. I have experienced many. I have a 10-year-old and twin 8-year-olds, So I have been trying different programs for a long time. The very first impression from the staff had me from the beginning.
Our daughter has been attending USK for the last 4 years. It has been the best decision we have ever made. The instructors at this school are amazing and they truly love and care for each of their students. Our daughter has learned about respect, confidence, discipline, courage, communication and health.
Your first Karate class at USK Karate Academy - Coral Springs North
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
