Karate Weapons (Kobudo) Classes
Kobudo is the traditional Okinawan weapons art that grew up alongside karate, and many dojos teach it as a natural extension of empty-hand training. Students learn kata with classic tools like the bo (staff), sai, tonfa and nunchaku — the same emphasis on stance, control, focus and precision, now with a weapon in hand. It's disciplined, demanding and deeply traditional rather than combative, and it's usually offered to students who've built a foundation in basic karate first. Expect to earn your way into it at many dojos, expect a real focus on safety and control, and check which weapons a given dojo teaches and at what level.
