From the reviews
students are not only at aftercare, but they are learning life skills in Karate!! Students are also picked up from their school then they are transported to the Academy. They have home work clubs and parents night out; which I think is really awesome!! Great place for kids.
My daughter has been attending ASKA for three years and I am more than satisfied! The staff is excellent; caring and dependable. Mr. Ray, the nucleus of ASKA, is always there to answer questions and provide direction to the staff. His leadership is second to none.
My son has been attending ASKA for the past 3 years. The ASKA are more than caregivers, they are family. I never have to worry about the safety or well-being of my child. The staff is great with communicating to parents and always have fun activities for the kids, in addition to karate.
I usually don’t write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one due to the excellent service I have received from the After School Karate Academy. It is going on 5 years that I have utilized ASKA’s services. The staff are always kind and extremely supportive!
Your first Karate class at After School Karate Academy And Summer Camp
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
