My child loves doing karate at Basches. Sensei does an amazing job teaching karate and the elements of life and how to handle real life situations. She has improved her confidence level and focus at her time in the dojo!
We love the atmosphere. Everyone works really hard with the kids. My children have learned a lot about respect, self control, and their self esteem has skyrocketed. Adding more to this review since we've been there for about six months. My kids have continued to improve. I have one wild child and one very shy.
My son Mason And I both Train at Basche's. The Dojo is very clean and a safe environment for everyone. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the Sensei is firm but kind with all his students. I could not ask for a better role model for my kids. If you are looking for a great school this is the place to be!!
Update : Jake is now 10 years old and a Blackbelt. 🥋 Sensei Basche is as legit as ever!! I’ve met other “karate” instructors in town and they are a joke to say the least. I wouldn’t send my son to any other school ever!!! I genuinely appreciate the time and effort you take to help the students!!!!
Your first Karate class at Basche's Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
