From the reviews
We had an amazing 7th birthday party! The instructors are incredibly dedicated and work hard to ensure that all the guests have a fun and wonderful experience. The atmosphere is truly warm and encouraging. Thank you so much, Will!
They have excellent to teach us. Even I am Deaf. They are very good to show me how to do and do not in karate! They have very patient with me for few years and I have successfully passed as 2nd black belt degree and will go for 3rd degree black belt!
As a family we have been going to West Coast Martial Arts Academy for about two years now. We have watched our kids grow in self-esteem and confidence and mum and dad are also having fun learning new karate moves.
My boys have been members of WCMAA for 10 years. They are more than instructors in karate. They have become mentors, friends and family. We came to teach our sons confidence, self defense, discipline and focus. We have gained all of that and more.
Your first Karate class at Blur MA
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
