From the reviews
Rick and Debbie are great to work with. Whether its martial arts, fitness or a diet plan. Their rates are very reasonable. I took the kickboxing/cardio class for a few years and never got to a burn out point. I love the workouts and Debbie always changes up the routine to keep it not only effective but not boring.
I have been attending the workout classes at Burnette Karate for almost a year now. I not only enjoy the laid back atmosphere and warm welcome that I receive every time I come to class but I enjoy seeing the change in my body. One other thing that I love about Burnette Karate is that it's a place for the whole family.
I have had two boys attend years ago. Now I have a young girl and boy attending class. And when my 8 month-old girl comes of age, she will join the Burdette Karate Club also. They are the best!!!! 5 stars for sure!!!!
I''ve had the pleasure of knowing Rick and Debbie Burnette for over 13 years. They both taught my sons karate and the program is exceptional. Rick and Debbie dedicate themselves to the shaping of young lives far beyond the karate teaching.
Your first Karate class at Burnette Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
