From the reviews
I just wanted to share something that warmed my heart so much for my son. He just told me her likes being at the karate gym he said “ i feel like i just belongs there.” He has never felt like he has belonged any where that was not with me. Thank you guys so much!
The Instructors and Staff are extremely professional and patient and strive to bring out the best in each student and allow their strengths to shine. I highly recommend this Martial Arts Center to anyone looking to have their son or daughter in one of the most inviting, friendly, and positive environments.
We’ve been coming to Central Movement for almost 6 months already and my son has had such a great experience so far!!!! He loves going to his classes, and the instructors were incredibly patient with him the first couple classes until he really got the hang of things.
We’ve been attending Central Movement for nearly a year. Our kids love their classes. We already know we’re going to be here for years to come. Mr. Kirk is wonderful with the kids! He remembers every child’s name in every class, even the new kids.
Your first Karate class at Central Movement - Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
