From the reviews
I’m so excited that my 7 year old has just started at this school! About ten years ago my oldest son was a student and earned up to his orange belt!! He has multiple disabilities (autism spectrum disorder, bi-polar disorder, and lower intellectual functioning), but as a student he was never treated any differently!
Daniel Pope karate Institute is the best around! The instructors are highly trained in the art of karate and kick boxing. They not only teach karate and kick boxing skills, but they teach principles. The instructor's stress self control, discipline and respect.
My daughter has gained strength and stamina as well as building her confidence. She has also learned how to defend herself if necessary. The teachers are kind and compassionate, but firm. At the end of each class Mr.
My son has been involved with karate for about 6 months with Daniel Pope Karate. I have seen a whole different side to my son! He is so much more confident in everything he does. He is eating healthy and enjoys working out. He loves going to karate and the instructors.
Your first Karate class at Daniel Pope Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
