From the reviews
I have had an excellent experience with this studio--not just for my kids--but I also enjoyed attending Eldred's when I was their age. My two kids were 5 and 10 when they started and stayed enrolled for almost 3 years. The only reason we are not currently attending is due to location.
I have been attending Eldred’s school of martial arts for almost 10 years now and have enjoyed every moment of it. They have taught me that nothing is impossible along with lessons in mindfulness that I will think back on for the rest of my life.
My son trains at Eldred’s Martial Arts…I watch. It’s been a long time since I have trained but I enjoy watching my son learn self defense, honor, integrity, self discipline. The dojo is great, instructors are awesome and it’s a family business of Eldred’s passing on the traditions. Go check ‘em out! 👊💥
Two generations of my family have trained with the Eldreds and we have learned so much more from them than just Tae Kwon Do. They have a clear passion for connecting with their community and instilling values such as honor, perseverance, and respect. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.
Your first Karate class at Eldred's School of Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
