From the reviews
This is an amazing facility that focuses on the whole person not just the martial arts. Our 7 year old son has shown so much improvement in focus, respect and self-discipline since starting the program here.
Absolutely love this school for my son. We have recently started, and my son cannot stop kicking or punching might be a bad/good thing for my tv in the house. The school is clean Everytime I am there, classes are fun and educational at the same time.
So far so good. I am not gonna lie some days my child does not want to go since she is more on the outgoing side instead of staying still. BUT they teach self control, respect, discipline and when your child is having a good class they make sure to let them know. When your child is struggling..
This is my daughter's fourth year at 5-T and she loves it! She has so much fun in the after school and summer camp programs and enjoys her karate class. Not only has she built great friendships with the other kids, she has really developed as a person through the guidance and care of the instructors.
Your first Karate class at Five Tenets Martial Arts Center
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
