From the reviews
I cannot say enough about this place. When my son first started, he was very soft-spoken and not the most athletic. We figured this would be a nice way for him to get some exercise and try some thing that he could do at his own pace. This was that and so much more.
My daughter loves karate! She enjoys spending time with Ms. Melissa and she has learned so much! She also has developed close friends. Her personality continues to flourished since she started taking classes. We really enjoy the support Ms. Melissa offers to parents to help develop safety, responsibility and character!
Super thankful we found this GEM for our daughter. Melissa is dedicated to her role, she is passionate, firm, assertive and kind in her teaching. My daughter is learning to open up and this class has been wonderful, she leaves the lesson feeling empowered, happy and confident she can do hard things, speak up when she…
Ms Melissa leads the kids in such a wonderful way at Frazier Martial Arts in Fullerton! She does an awesome job balancing individual focus and group instruction. You can tell she genuinely loves her job and wanting the best for all of our kids.
Your first Karate class at Frazier Martial Arts - Fullerton
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
