From the reviews
The kids love it. They are excited to kick and spar. Well dressed. Clean location. Staff seem very friendly. Sitting area for kids. Kids are also well protected with helmet and soft masks and soft shoes so it is quite safe
My son (age 3) has been attending since February of 2025 and has loved it. The instructors keep it structured and teach good listening skills while letting the little ones have fun all at the same time. They never raise their voice and lead by example to really show them discipline and the introduction to karate.
My daughter has loved every minute of kicks karate over the last 2.5 years. The staff does a great job explaining and breaking down the days lesson in a way the kids can understand. They do a good job incorporating physical and mental tests and challenges while teaching the children karate.
Our son has been attending Kicks Karate for almost 8 years now and we love the instructors and the program. Our son started as a Tiny Tiger and is now a first degree black belt. The instructors have cared and continue to care about our son and have helped him with his confidence over the years.
Your first Karate class at Kicks Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
