“My son had never done anything like this before and honestly doesn’t even really liked to be touched (especially by strangers-hahah) but, when he’s here, he comes out of his shell!”
“When I first brought up the idea to my daughter that she would truly benefit from learning some form of self defense/martial arts, she was extremely hesitant.”

“Martial Arts has helped my daughter become more focused, disciplined, and open to trying new things but most importantly she's able to use and grow her natural skills.”

This place is the best! My 10 year old comes here Tuesday and Thursday and I can’t say enough good things about our experience! I have a shy, antisocial, and at times awkward kiddo!!!
I'm 25 years old and have trained at this dojo on and off for close to 15 years, and I can confidently say it has been one of the most positive influences in my life. The instructors here are truly exceptional - extremely knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about what they do.
From the moment my daughter attended her first class, I knew this was the right place to be. Now after continuing her training, everyone in her life has noticed an increase in her self confidence as well as overall spirit. Each class proves a great experience and she never leaves without a smile on her face.
Our daughter has been taking classes here for a year and a half & loves it. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable. They not only teach the students how to defend themselves, but teach them life lessons as well. We couldn’t be happier with the classes. Highly recommend for all ages!!
Your first Karate class at Ohio Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
