SoSai's Donna and Harry are both very wonderful people and great teachers. My 2 kids started classes there over a year ago now and they have loved it immensely from day one. They are very great with children and are always willing to help you and/or work with you.
Phoenix Karate has been the best experience for my son! Donna and Harry are patient, kind, compassionate, I could go on and on! They are some if the best people we have met. My son loves karate so much and looks forward to each class!
Signing my kids up at Phoenix was one of the best decision we have made for them. It's been amazing to watch both of my kids gain confidence and feel proud of themselves with every class. Sosai Harry and Sosai Donna have built a welcoming, empowering, family-oriented atmosphere. So grateful to have found this Dojo.
My grandson has been coming here for over a year now, he really enjoys this class. This is the second karate class we have been to and this one exceeds the other by far! He has learned to focus, & how to get along with others as well as help others.
Your first Karate class at Phoenix No Limits Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
