From the reviews
Honestly these teachers are amazing with our kids. My kids have thrown them every curve ball from being overly shy to down right defiant and they handle them like a champ every time. I feel very lucky 🍀 for my kids to attend. They are truly teaching them discipline and how to defend themselves.
Learning karate was never in my “bucket list”! However, after watching my daughter take classes and seeing the wonderful changes in her I decided to give it a try! When I say I had little to no self-confidence, it may be an understatement!
PKSA is amazing!!! My son is enrolled here and he absolutely love his instructors and the students…everyone is so friendly and helpful…since day one when we first began we met a bunch of strangers that we embrace as family…this is a great family atmosphere that keeps getting better Year after year…my son has shown…
I signed my 9 year old nephew up after a bully punched him and was caught in school camera he's popular, kind and a good looking kid. My nephew didn't hit back because he was caught off guard and isn't physically aggressive.
Your first Karate class at PKSA Karate - Livonia
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
