I'm actually only rating the Softball fields and the park across the street from them. The fields are well lit. The grass is well kept. Facilities are clean. I haven't used the concessions yet, but it looks like they have good options. The park across the road has an epic playground for the kids. Overall good parking.
Can't say enough about this gorgeous park. Has something for everyone: dog park, pool, community center, skate park, basketball courts (in and outdoor), football/soccer fields, baseball fields, running and bike paths, kids playground. Clean restrooms, park is always clean as well. Plenty of parking and shade.
Awesome park! They have 2 jungle gyms to choose from and a secluded dog park away from everything. 1 is for kids 5 and under, the other is for 5 and older but is still safe for my 3 year old to play on. Both of my kids loved this park. The dog park is tucked way in the back.
Wonderful new playground and picnic area! Well shaded! Restrooms not easily accessible though. Still a great place to fly a kite, kick a ball or just have a nice time in the city.
Your first Karate class at Shotokan Karate Academy of San Antonio
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
