From the reviews
I have trained with Master C for 6 years before he opened SoCal Karate Kids, and for another two years since he opened. Same for my 15 year old son. Believe me when I tell you this place is special. The positive energy, the attention to detail, the dedication to teaching, the level of standards - it is all there.
We signed our kid up for So Cal Karate Kids hoping he’d learn how to sand the floor, wax the car, and paint the fence. He’s learned none of those things. But Master C and his crew are awesome and we love them. Privileged to have him teach our son Martial Arts.
SoCal Karate Kids is incredible! We’ve attended the program for the past two years and it’s been a great experience. My son is not only learning how to do karate, he’s having an absolute blast doing it! Master C is not only a highly skilled karate professional and educator, he is absolutely phenomenal with kids.
I am one of his students and have known Master C for around 8 years now. I've learned so much from him and have developed my skills so much under his guidance. All the other instructors are incredible instructors and they never fail to teach me something new every class.
Your first Karate class at SoCal Karate Kids
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
