From the reviews
Our daughter Ariana started at Tri-Star Martial Arts almost a year ago, and the growth we’ve seen has been incredible. Physically, mentally, and emotionally she has blossomed. Her discipline has improved dramatically, and it’s like a switch turned on as she’s more focused and determined than ever before.
I recently won a certificate for 8 weeks free at Tri-star martial arts, and I must say, I never anticipated how amazing this experience would be! My kids attend the New Lenox class, and they absolutely love it. Mr. Kent, their instructor, is truly exceptional.
We are a Tristar Martial Arts family. They are truly wonderful here. My daughter has been a piece of work at times during class, but the leaders stayed so professional, loving, and caring towards her.
Our youngest has been at Tri Star for 8 years. In those 8 years she has been guided to perform to the best of her ability. She has learned patience, persistence, self control and a huge amount of respect. This has carried with her outside of the studio also.
Your first Karate class at Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy - Bradley
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
