From the reviews
I have been taking karate at UKF for almost a year now and I love it. It is a great traditional shotokan dojo with wonderful instructors. I initially started with two days a week. A few months later, they asked me to join team UKF and now I go four days a week and am starting to compete in tournaments.
My six year old daughter has been interested in martial arts since seeing Kung Fu Panda a few years back. We just happened to run across a coupon for Ultimate Karate and Fitness (UKF) and decided to try them out. I have been very impressed with the instructors at UKF.
We all like the dojo a lot. Family oriented. Sensei and teachers are very sincere and friendly. Students are given individual attention. Our both kids are enrolled here, one has completed over 8 years and has earned 2nd degree black belt. Second one is in 2nd year.
Best place for karate! We recently moved out of state. Our son had attended UKF for four years. We have tried no less than five karate places in our new location and none of them even come close to the excellence of UKF.
Your first Karate class at Ultimate Karate and Fitness Marietta
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
