From the reviews
I started doing karate as an adult and USA Karate has been the perfect place to do it. Shihan Melissa leads the classes with great positive energy and she teaches the proper technique so you can work hard and have fun at the same time.
I am so glad to have trained with the best martial arts organization ever. I carry fond memories of USA Karate. Thanks for the expert instruction and the personal interest shown to all students. Everyone was welcomed and encouraged regardless of their age or ability.
USA Karate is only place I recommend for karate lessons for children and adults. They also provide kickboxing lessons which whip you right into shape. Classes with Sensei Melissa have kicked my butt and helped me with my weight loss journey. The studio is very clean and I’ve never felt more safe! 10/10 recommend!
I have my 5 kids in this dojo! One is a black belt and the others hopefully soon. They have learnt confidence and not to give up. I feel the values that are instilled make the school. It is a family atmosphere as well. Shihan cares about the students and strives for them to succeed.
Your first Karate class at USA Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
