From the reviews
We’ve had such a great experience with USA Martial Arts of Morgantown for our almost 4 year old son so far! At his age, it’s not even about the physical skills yet which I didn’t know until starting- it’s behavior-based, and that’s what I love most.
Shihan Wood and all the staff are wonderful with the kids. Since my son has started classes with Shihan Wood, I’ve witnessed incredible growth in his confidence, discipline, and focus. He's not only improving his martial arts skills, but he's also learned the importance of respect & self-control.
We have had both of our children in martial arts classes at the dojo since our oldest was 3 years old. Shihan Wood and his team have been fantastic with the kids at all age and skill levels.
I would not change a thing about the experience my child has had at this facility. All the staff is extremely patient and kind and help for a strong foundation of self respect and confidence. Highly recommend incorporating the Dojo into your family routine.

Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
