This is my main form of exercise since 2018. I get a great workout getting cardio and strength and flexibility training. I also have learned how to protect myself and have developed confidence and grown in many ways. I enjoy my karate friends and family.
Lol if I could leave 6 out of 5 ⭐️ school doesn't deserve anything less than 5 you get what you pay for and more ...hardest thing is adjusting to different senseis because they all have their own personal style but it's still fun go here lol the last thing you'll get is a fighting lesson -TaRon-
My daughter started training at Z-Ultimate when she was 6 years old. She was very shy and struggled with confidence. The instructors worked with her to help with her specific needs. It was really great to see how they actually listened to what I wanted her to get out of doing martial arts.
This dojo is a 10 out of 5! Being part of this community and this program has done wonders for our shy daughter. Sensei Mark is exceptional leader and outstanding human being. Sensei Hallie and Sensei Dave care about their students as well - they all strive to ensure they live the lessons they teach.
Your first Karate class at Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios N. Academy
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
