From the reviews
This Dojo is truly extraordinary! My son started approximately 2 months ago and thus far is loving it. All the Sensei’s are dedicated, fun, hands on, strict when necessary and passionate about their art.
My children,Dibella and Alfredo have been part of zanchin Dojo for a year now, and it has truly been one of the best experiences for our family. The dojo provides such a positive, respectful, and motivating environment where kids not only learn martial arts, but also discipline, confidence, and focus.
Zanchin Dojo is a family friendly environment . My son has been with this Dojo for over a year. He looks forward to learning forms and fighting techniques from his Senseis. Not only do they teach him Shito-Ryu Karate they instill respect, self confidence and discipline. I would highly recommend to any parent.
Stop what you’re doing. Do not look any further. If you’re looking for a dojo, it’s this one. You will feel right at home from the moment you walk-in. My son started about a month ago, he is over the moon and absolutely loves his sensei’s. If I could leave 10 stars I would!
Your first Karate class at Zanchin Dojo Karate-Do
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
