From the reviews
My son has been attending classes here for about 3 years and it's been a wonderful experience. Monica and everyone else there is so helpful and supportive, giving us guidance on how my son will progress. It really does feel like a family, I can tell that all the instructors care about the kids and their growth.
Our oldest started learning karate with Champagne's Martial Arts nearly 17 years ago. Eventually, all our children (and myself!) joined in the fun and this has become a family activity we love and look forward to each week.
I have been training with Champagne's Martial Arts Academy for more than 15 years now. I have gone through their Karate Program as a child and young adult, receiving my Black Belt from Sensei John, and now train in the adult Jiu-Jitsu class.
I started training BJJ at Champagne's Martial Arts Academy almost two years ago, and I couldn't be more satisfied. From the first day I attended class, I felt welcome and I was impressed in how technical the instructors and students were with the training.
Your first Karate class at Champagne's Martial Arts Academy
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
