From the reviews
My daughter loves going to class on a weekly basis, it’s a fun interactive way to introduce kids to martial arts ( she’s 6). The instructors are all great, she learns new skills that can be applied to everyday life with each class. Highly recommend this studio!
Empower Martial Arts isn't just a martial arts studio; it's a vibrant community where families come together to grow stronger, both physically and mentally. Empower offers a welcoming environment where everyone can thrive.
Our family has been part of Empower Martial Arts for many years—my child for over six years and myself for four—and the experience has been truly outstanding. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to each student’s growth, both on and off the mat.
Our son has been going to Empower Martial Arts for over 2 years now. EMA has the friendliest staff that you'd ever come across, instructors as well as reception. They have a pretty intuitive app which makes managing schedules a breeze.
Your first Karate class at Empower Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
