“Moore is pretty much the coolest human on the planet), they make every class fun, and use time during each class to instill great values in the kiddos.”
“The forms and kicking and punching are great, and teach you a lot about body-control -- but the real lessons are the respect, discipline, integrity and character-building.”
From the reviews
We've been taking our daughter here for 3.5 years and it's been gratifying to see her growth during that time frame. She is making her way through the black belt program thanks to the wonderful direction, watchful eyes and guidance of a number of instructors.

We have been a part of the Kicks family for over 10 years now! Can not speak highly enough about the dedication all of the instructors have for teaching and passing on their love for martial arts on to each of the students.
We've had a tremendous experience at Kicks Unlimited! The instructors and staff provide a hugely positive influence on my son's development. Not only is he learning karate and improving his fitness, but he is also learning about character -- respect, open-mindedness, integrity, etc.
Your first Karate class at Empower Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
