From the reviews
My son has gone from wild child to black belt behavior in less then 3 months! He has been showing improved behavior at school and at home. He loves coming and enjoys the family friendly environment. I'm so proud of the little man he is becoming!
We recently signed our 5yo for the Dragon class, and 3.5 months in, our household have gone to dealing with a disrespectful, spoiled princess to a more disciplined, respectful kid, who wants to protect her baby sister.
This Dojo is awesome! They take the lessons and break them down and make it simple and easy for all ages to understand and advance through each stage. My son already is in the orange belt stage I am so proud of him . Thank you for everyone all all that you all do. 😊
We had our son there for a little over a year and it was a great experience for all of us, instructors are great and very dedicated to the kids, it's a great after school activity and really good for the kids to learn self discipline, respect and stay active. We'll be back soon to enroll again.
Your first Karate class at Family Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
