We have had our daughter enrolled here for 2 yrs and her transformation has been amazing to watch! So much so that I myself signed up for the Adult Krav Mag classes. They are super fun and challenging! Amanda, and staff are amazing with the kids! My daughter loves her instructors!
My son has been going to FMA for 6 months now and we absolutely love it! I love the flexibility in the schedule to make sure we are able to attend each week. All of the instructors are so great and my little one always talks about how fun Mr. Max and Mr. Steven are on the way home, every time!
Nearly a year in, and we couldn’t be happier with this dojo. When we first signed our daughter up, we weren’t sure it would stick—she’s all glitter and bows at home. But she proved us wrong in the best way. She loves it. The discipline, the challenge, the confidence—it’s been amazing to watch her grow.
Mr. Nathan, Mr. Max, and Ms. Amanda do a great job of teaching the kids helpful life skills while having fun! My daughter loves coming to classes twice a week and has grown in confidence.
Your first Karate class at Frazier Martial Arts - La Habra
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
