From the reviews
My son has been in the little ninja class for a little over 8 months and he is so happy! He has developed into this confident little boy and even sits in his "listening" position at home. Can NOT recommend this class enough!
My son has been coming here for a few months and absolutely loves it. He has improved so much and is always excited to come in. As a teacher, I love how Sensei Wendy and all the coaches work with the children. They encourage and advise them so wonderfully!
I cannot recommend Freestyle Karate enough!! I have been training at Freestyle Karate for 12 years and have loved every minute! Sensei Wendy is so encouraging and a wonderful trainer. I am proud to say that I earned my Second Degree Black Belt from this dojo, and am excited to keep learning!
My son started here about a year ago and still looks forward to class every week! The instructors are wonderful and always willing to help! My 5 year old has made so many karate friends and is always so excited to continue moving up belt ranks. Sensei Wendy goes out of her way to help each kiddo feel included.
Your first Karate class at Freestyle Karate and Krav Maga 330
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
