I can't say enough good things in one review about Jukido Academy! I want to start off by saying that Sensei George Rego is FANTASTIC at what he does. He is so patient, kind, respectful & understanding.
Jukido Academy is an outstanding Dojo and I am so grateful that my daughter has found a place where she can grow and truly flourish. They have become a second family and there’s really no words for how incredible, knowledgeable, and caring the instructors are especially Sensei Master Rego.
My daughter absolutely loves her time at Jukido! She was hesitant to join other activities in the past as nothing ever really clicked for her, whether it was gymnastics or soccer. But after just one trial class at Jukido, she walked out beaming with a huge smile and couldn’t stop talking about it all week!
Master Rego and the black belts just radiate kindness. I usually walk around the plaza with my youngest son during class time, and I always see kids getting one on one practice and training. My son has gained a lot of confidence since joining this dojo, and a better sense of discipline as well.

What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
