From the reviews
From the first day Mr Weinberger had myself and my 2 younger boys (11 & 12) engaged. We were immediately introduced to blocks, punches and kicks. Our class time flys bye. Whats great is the app has videos of everything we review so we can practice at home too.
"Strike First! Strike Hard! No Mercy!" If that is the kind of dojo you're looking for - go elsewhere. Courtesy. Integrity. Modesty. Perseverance. Indomitable Spirit. Honesty. Courage. Those are the virtues painted on the walls of Karate International West Raleigh. They are upheld in our dojo by Mr.
I've had a great experience at Karate International of West Raleigh. The instruction is excellent, and Mr. Weinberger is an outstanding coach. He is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cares about helping every student improve, no matter their skill level.
Special Thanks to Karate International of West Raleigh. This is our first year here.I love the fact that they are kind, patient & serious with the kids which I appreciate as kids come to learn. Parents who want their child to learn self-defense, discipline and social skills then this is the right place.
Your first Karate class at Karate International of West Raleigh
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
