From the reviews
When I sat down to write this, I stopped to think of the day I signed my son up for karate. It was just after the lockdown; my son has never experienced not being in school. Since he was 3 months old, he has been around people. This lockdown has made him impossible his social interaction was in desperate need.
Great place for you kids to start learning martial arts, sensei Walker has a lot of knowledge and is so passionate about it, personally recommended 100% if your kids is having issues with insecurities or been bully, here they teach him how to get his confidence back and learn personal defense
My son used to be very shy and nervous especially when it comes to sparring. After Sensei Walker and Instructor Lee kept encouraging and motivating him, he's now all round working hard and passing his stripes testing and he's now graduated into green belt respectively. He's practicing all the movements well with joy!!
I am very grateful and thankful for Sensei Walker and Resilient Martial Arts for the lessons and invaluable experience my children have attained. Karate has definitely helped my kids be stronger and more confident and not only that they are also learning life lessons to help them become better human beings in life.
Your first Karate class at Resilient Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
