From the reviews
I joined at 32 years old, not having any experience. From day one I have been treated with such kindness, patience, and accountability. After each class I leave feeling more and more confident in not only learning this art, but also in self defense. The owner and her family are so very kind and wise.
Having my kids join the Savage National Karate is the best decision I've made so far. I can see my kids grow in confidence, make new friends and very excited to come to Karate classes. They can't wait to come to class, and that speaks volume for a 8 and 12 years old 😀 Even my 4 years old wants to join...
I highly recommend Savage National Karate. I began my karate journey when I was around 6 years old here. I took a break from karate for a couple years, before deciding to join back again. I tried different schools in the area, yet nothing could compare to Savage.
We love this school! My grandkids really enjoy coming to class each week, anxious to learn new things to improve on. They are learning so much and are improving on areas of technique , form , focus, control, self-descipline , etc..., which I believe build character , confidence and self-awareness , etc..
Your first Karate class at Savage National Karate
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
