From the reviews
We have both our kids (ages 8 and 10) enrolled in the leadership program. They both love it there and love all the classes the school has to offer! The instructors at Singewald’s ATA are amazing. They are patient and truly care about their students.
My 5 year old has been going to Singewald's for 1 1/2 years now. When we originally put her in the Tiny Tigers program we were looking for something that would keep her active, help with coordination and also build confidence.
My son has been a student for a few years and we have been at the old facility which was getting crowded, but the newer location is much more spacious. The staff is excellent and pleasant to deal with. It is truly a family oriented business that makes you feel welcome and comfortable being a part of.
My son has been going for about 2 years, and I decided to join him about a year ago. I cant truly explain how nice everybody is at the school the instructors are top notch and both my son and I enjoy it very much.
Your first Karate class at Singewald's Karate For Kids
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
